“Live and work in the place you call home” is our remote work philosophy. When we think about remote work, we might think of it as working from a home office space, from a local coffee shop, or from a park bench. Not very often, do we think of it as working from a trailer while traveling around North America. Yet, one of our team members, Anja, has proven to make this model of work for her and her adventurous family.
Meet Anja Bergner, a native German consultant on our Accrue team. While we could go on and on about Anja and her amazing talents and personality, we think it is best that you hear from one of our team members who has known her the longest and introduced her to Core10.
“Anja is a constant source of positivity and professionalism. She embodies Core10’s "Success comes in cans" attitude. She has consistently expanded her banking sector knowledge and developed into an expert: whether a purchase loan, a refi, or a diary collateral, she knows the questions to ask. We’re lucky to have her on our Accrue Professional Services team and are excited to see her continue to grow!”
-Jeff Galloway, VP of Application Services
Take a few minutes to dive into Anja’s employee spotlight and learn about her travels, what sparks her passions, and her unique experiences in tech. Like us, we bet you’ll feel inspired to start your own wanderlust journey by the end of this read.

Friend and co-worker
Core10’s values seemed to align with my expectations of an employer. I also trusted my co-worker who introduced me to Core10. The job also gave me the opportunity to keep working remotely.
I worked for Origin CRM as a Client Relationship Manager and Salesforce Consultant. Before that, I spent 10 years consulting and managing restaurants/ hotels in Germany and Canada.
Germany, Ravensburg
Business Administration (specialized in Hotel Management), Bachelor
Cooperate University London degree (Bachelor) in Business Administration
After I had my first child I wanted to be more at home, especially in the evenings. I was looking for remote opportunities. I always worked with software in the hotel industry and knew the struggles with software and implementations and their employees. This got me interested in working for software companies and solving problems quickly and effectively myself.
Accrue! – the first implementation project with Putnam was very wild, exciting, and fun!! We all had to learn so much…so much growth happened! I’m super excited about the direction we’re heading with Accrue and our projects.
Originally, I’m from Germany and immigrated to Canada 5 years ago with my partner, Michael, who is also German, and our dog Pinot (6yrs), who’s German as well. Pinot is a border collie/ vizsla cross and keeps us very active.
I have a little son, Matteo (3yrs) who was born in Canada and is a true little thunder in our house and makes sure that I never have a quiet minute.
Last year we sold everything in Canada, bought a truck and a 5th wheel, renovated it, and started traveling the states, Mexico and Canada. It was wonderful.
This winter we’ll be stationary in Canada for a few months before we start exploring in May again.
I’m obsessed with getting to know new cultures and people and am always open to new adventures. I LOVE hiking, biking, playing piano, snowshoeing, snowboarding, wandering around in new places, everything in nature, and hanging out in front of a fire with a good glass of wine – either alone or with some friends or family. Wine is definitely a huge passion of mine as well as food. (Our dog “Pinot” is named after the wine)
I love a good dining experience in a nice restaurant where cooks can demonstrate their passion for food on a plate, but I always appreciate a good food truck too!
I donate to food banks and missions as well as Hospice from time to time. I buy mostly local and try to support small businesses as much as possible.
That we live in a trailer and travel full-time surprises many people.
To people who know me longer: I’m working for a tech company now and am on a computer most of my day. I’m totally a people person and am used to having my co-workers in person.
Although I’m always in action and busy, I am very organized. I love to have quality quiet times for myself (or Pinot) and enjoy a yoga session or dinner to myself.
My hometown in Canada is Vernon, located in BC. It’s a wonderful wine region with lots of outdoor activities and amazing countryside. We are surrounded by orchards, vineyards, endless beautiful lakes, and great people. We now travel in our trailer. Want to see where we are? Instagram: @chasingwows
I looooove raspberries. They’re my true love - besides Matteo and his future sibling, who joins our family this December.
