Have you ever bought a service or product that required you to go through an implementation/orientation process? Well if so, you probably interacted with someone nearly as wonderful as our very own Anthony Alexander. Anthony is the Technical Lead on the Implementation team for Core10. Since starting with us back in 2019, Anthony has truly embodied our core value of We are here to grow! In addition to working on projects for our clients, he also helps inform strategy for our implementation team as we look to grow the team.
“Anthony has been a tremendous addition to Core10 since the day he started. He embodies our core values and is proactive and intentional toward taking care of clients and improving his department. He is action-orientated, pays attention to detail, and is a pleasure to work with and collaborate with on ideas. His future is bright, and we’re glad he is a part of the Core10 team.”
— Tony Nigrelli, VP of Customer Experience at Core10
Recently, we had a chance to ask Anthony a few questions to get to know him even better. Read on to learn more about this valued member of our team.
I heard about Core10 through the Generation WV Impact Fellowship, which has a goal of bringing talent to the state and fighting population decline. I applied for the Fellowship on a whim, but it definitely turned out to be the right move — mainly because I wanted to work in a faster-paced environment.
I had worked in accounting and banking positions prior to joining the Core10 team and found myself unhappy with the pace of work. Core10 has a really great startup feel that encourages everyone who works here to have a larger impact on the business and to take initiative. I’ve also always enjoyed working with technology and within the finance/banking industry, so it felt like a natural fit. Being able to use finance/accounting knowledge in a tech environment is the dream!
To be honest, I had no idea what implementation was when I interviewed for the position. I went to school at Marshall University for both my BBA in Accounting and a BBA in Finance for undergrad, and an MBA, and originally saw my career going a more traditional route.
Luckily, when I applied for Generation WV’s Impact Fellowship, Core10 reached out to me and said they were interested in speaking. The role sounded like I would be able to use finance knowledge, client-facing skills, and technology in tandem, which is exactly what I was looking for — I just didn’t know it yet!
My favorite project has been DealCloud — the experience I have gotten working in this role and the relationships I’ve built with people all around the country are priceless. I simultaneously get to feel like a member of the DealCloud team and the Core10 team, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
I was an almost-black belt (one belt away!), I’ve never had a cavity, and I’ve 100%’ed every 3D Legend of Zelda game.
In my spare time, I also read a lot of books and play a lot of guitar. I recently set a bucket-list goal of reading a biography of every single U.S. President. I’m still stuck on the founding fathers currently, so check back in about 20 years and I may have some more knowledge then. I also do a fair amount of mountain biking and kayaking.
My family all lives close by, and it’s easy to have an impact on the community here. Changemakers are easy to find in this area and always willing to help each other out.
For example, I recently worked with an organization that operates through Marshall University. A co-worker from Core10 and I got to teach Marshall’s first-ever financial literacy course. We were also able to apply for and receive a $30,000 endowment for financial literacy funding for the Wayne County Public School system.
Also, it’s super easy to find a parking spot.
I love the proximity to parks and a wide range of trails. The state parks are a super easy place to go when you need to reset and get away from everything.
If anyone is interested in working on the implementation team — we’re hiring!
