What is your role at Core10?

I am a Senior Implementation Consultant. I help set our clients up with new SaaS software, such as Salesforce and Workiva.

How long have you been with Core10?

I’ve been with Core10 for 7 months.

How did you hear about Core10?

I was looking to expand into a new vertical for Salesforce, and Core10 happened to come up in my job search results.

Why did you choose to work at Core10?

What really stood out to me about Core10 was the company’s clear emphasis on employee wellbeing and how much it values professional development for its staff. I felt like this was a company that would value my experience as a Salesforce administrator, but also offer me opportunities for professional growth.

What did you do before joining the team?

I was a Salesforce Consultant for an organization that specifically worked with land trusts and non-profit organizations.

Where did you go to school?

A small liberal arts school in Baltimore, MD, called Goucher College.

What did you study?

 I was a Theatre Major.

What got you interested in a career in Salesforce?

I have always been delighted when I build something that works. When all the pieces fall into place, and someone can interact with what I’ve built and have a seamless experience - sort of like a Rube Goldberg machine. Building a Salesforce environment for a client that meets all their needs is a pretty similar feeling. It’s creating a functional tool, and when a client can interact with that tool, they are able to have an enjoyable experience and not worry about how something was done.

What is your favorite project you have worked on at Core10?

I’m currently working on a project for a financial tech company that makes sure all their client’s funds are insured with FDIC, and that they are getting the highest yielding interest rate with banks. It’s a pretty complex system and has offered a lot of fun challenges for me to problem solve and explore with my team.

Tell us about your life outside of Core10… Family life? Pets? Hobbies?

I’m an active runner. I’ve run a total of 9 marathons, and I’m currently training for the 2024 Chicago marathon. I’m also a carpenter (there’s that interest in building things again). I’ve built things from plantstands, to stools, to bookcases. I’m always tinkering with something.

How do you give back to the community?

I work with a group of friends that collects lightly used running shoes for Soles4Soles. The collected shoes are donated to folks who would not otherwise have access to footwear around the world.

What is something other people find most surprising to learn about you?

I used to work short-term gigs as a background actor in Baltimore, and I can be seen in season 2 of House of Cards. I’m a very out of focus background actor, so no one would be able to spot me.

Where do you live and what is your favorite part(s) about the place you call home?

I live in Baltimore, MD. It has an amazing arts and culture scene, and I love being so close to the water. One of my favorite things to do here is to run around the harbor. I never get bored of looking out over the water.

Why did you choose to stay there?

I grew up in Maryland, and while I have lived outside of the state, what drew me back here was my family. My three siblings and my dad and Stepmother still live here, and it was hard to be away from them. Also, Baltimore is the greatest city in America (it’s true, it says it on our benches), so why would I want to live anywhere else?

Anything else you’d like to share???

My favorite go-to comfort movie is the 1990 live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
