Let’s talk remote work. If you could choose anywhere to live while working remotely, where would you choose? How about Orlando, Florida?
Meet Robert Pittman, a Core10 Software Engineer, based in Orlando, Florida. When Robert was looking for a new role over a year ago, he knew he wanted to join a remote team that would provide him the opportunity to remain in Florida. We certainly don’t find any fault in this! We are thrilled that remote work opened the opportunity for Robert to join the Core10 team.
“Robert is an excellent engineer and someone I will always want on my team. He exemplifies many of our core values here at Core10. He is always on the lookout for the best way to solve any problem and speaks up to ensure we are following best practices. He never shies away from a tough task and is eager to share his knowledge with the rest of our team.”
-Alison Brandt, Engineering Manager
We’re excited for you to get to know Robert. Read on to learn more about this exceptional member of our team.
I’m a Software Engineer.
I've been working for Core10 for about one year and 5 months now.
I heard about Core10 from a recruiter when finishing up a project in Florida and looking for a remote long-term position where growth was certainly inevitable.
I chose to work at Core10 because it not only shined on my full-stack JavaScript experience but also provided an awesome team to work with, a scope for enhancement, and a fully remote position. Choosing Core10 wasn’t an overall difficult decision to make. Core10 had everything I was looking for as a company to grow with.
Before joining the team I was a backend developer. Before my switch to this industry, I was working as a sales representative at Verizon.
I attended Passaic County Community College and Rutgers University.
I studied Computer Science.
My first high school summer job was working at a computer repair shop. After working with people that loved what they were doing, I instantly fell in love with everything and during college, I chose the one thing I had no problem doing for hours, happy to say that I am still loving it.
My favorite projects I’ve worked on would have to be our ICE Encompass projects and Mesh, our iPaaS solution.
I have a fancy pet goldfish that can’t stop eating. My hobbies include finding minor problems around the house and trying my best to fix them even if I have to go to Home Depot for an indefinite amount. I also love playing the piano.
Every Friday a group of friends and I try to give back to the community by cooking hot meals or sometimes buying cleaning essentials, bags, and Yeti cups and driving to nearby cities of Orlando and Clermont Florida to distribute them to the homeless.
That I have the same amount of love for Mac and Windows users.
I call Florida home. It’s all about the warm weather for me!
I do believe in treating people with so much love that there’s no more room to receive it, and they will give the same love back in the same matter they received.
