Written by Tatum Utley | Sep 3, 2021 4:00:00 PM

People often ask us what makes Core10 the thriving organization it is today. The answer is simple: our people! We’ve found that when we invest in our people and offer them well-paying tech careers and the opportunity to work in the place they call home, amazing things happen.

We consider ourselves lucky to work alongside incredible tech talent who are equally invested in the work at hand and drive Core10 and our clients’ successes. That’s why we’re delighted to have someone on our team like Tiffany Tobin.

Tiffany joined Core10 this March as a Project Manager. In less than six months, Tiffany has already shown a dedication to leadership and a passion for ensuring each project’s success.

“Tiffany is phenomenal. She is always stepping in to help lead new projects and does a fantastic job of keeping projects on track. Her attention to detail and ability to communicate well with the client have ensured the projects she’s part of are successful.” - Joel Legg, Engineering Manager and Senior Software Engineer

We recently had the opportunity to sit down with Tiffany and reflect on her experiences prior to Core10 and her current role with us. Read on to learn more about this passionate member of our team.

Why did you choose to work at Core10?

I chose to work at Core10 because it’s a company of integrity that invests in people rather than only being concerned with what results in the most profit. The strategic vision and business decisions show that time after time.

Core10's Hereshore® model also intrigued me. Having worked with offshore teams, I was interested in a company that wanted to keep jobs at home. But Core10 went beyond that, investing in smaller communities and allowing people to earn a living without being forced to relocate. I believe allowing people to live where they choose, raise families, and contribute to their community is invaluable.

Core10’s culture of being a team and everyone rooting for everyone else’s success is something you just don’t find in every workplace. The people at Core10 are incredibly positive and ready to assist anyone in any way. The leadership supports mentoring and learning, and gives opportunities to improve and grow in your career.

What did you do before joining the team?

Before joining the Core10 team, I worked at a software company in the printing and mailing industry. Prior to that, I was a high school mathematics teacher.

Where did you go to school? What did you study?

I received my bachelor’s degree from Mercyhurst University in Mathematics with a certification in Secondary Education. I went on to earn my master’s degree from New York University in Mathematics Education.

What got you interested in a career in project management?

I’ve always been a logical and analytical thinker, which explains my passion for mathematics. I like to find the best solution for any given problem. But I have also always been very organized, and I love seeing something built, the progress of it, and the final product. Project management blends the organization and planning aspects with the data analysis and reporting.

What is your favorite project you’ve worked on at Core10?

While each project is different and each allows you to learn so many new things, the CoreConnect project has been my favorite so far. It’s an API that enables banks and fintechs to connect to multiple core systems, which is a powerful product that will make a huge impact for our clients!

Tell us about your life outside of Core10.

I try to live life to the fullest each day. I travel as much as possible so I can see new things and have new and unique experiences. I love spending time with family and friends, sports, game nights, the outdoors, and anything adventurous.

How do you give back to the community?

I volunteer with a few organizations that fight hunger, as well as the Nashville Dolphins, which help children with disabilities learn to swim.

What is something other people find most surprising to learn about you?

Someday I’d like to live abroad for at least a year. I have never had a pet. And I’m a Cleveland Browns fan.

What is your favorite thing about Nashville?

I love exploring Nashville — there’s always something new and exciting to do here. There are so many different neighborhoods, but my favorite thing is all the local restaurants. Nashville is truly a foodie city, and there are so many award-winning, unique, delicious places to try. It’s hard to keep up with all the new ones and still frequent my favorites!

Why did you choose to stay there?

This city has it all, and I love living in Germantown. I can walk to so much, including the park, farmer’s market, or downtown. But it’s quaint and charming and feels like a small neighborhood away from it all.
